Women in IT Awards and Summit Canada Edition

The IT Media Group is proud to be a long-standing media partner of the Women in IT Awards and Summit Canada Edition at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto on Oct 25, 2022.

This year’s theme of “Emerging with Impact - prioritizing real action in a post-pandemic world” could not be timelier. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced individuals and organizations to reassess and reset priorities. While great strides have been made in advancing conversations about race, human connections, authenticity, flexibility, and new ways of working and leading, progress on better representation has been sadly stalling or even regressing. There is a distinct absence of gender diversity in tech leadership roles and a notorious lack of representation of those from marginalized communities. Since the pandemic, women have been disproportionally impacted to make choices between career and life responsibilities.

Diversity at all intersections is critical in tech, as it enables companies to innovate inclusively in a way that takes everyone into consideration, not just one section of society.

The Women in IT Awards and Summit series aims to tackle this daunting issue by showcasing the achievements of women in the sector and identifying both female and male role models, mentors and sponsors.

The Women in IT Summit and Awards this year will celebrate the hard-earned achievements of our Canadian technology community since 2020 and explore how we can continue to put diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility at the core of our corporate DNA. We will aim to explore how organizations within the tech industry can prioritize real action and create maximum impact in a post-pandemic world.

The WIT Summit on Oct 25th will feature nearly 30 accomplished female and male executives on the agenda, share insights and advice, celebrate successes, and pave the way for the future generation.

The IT Media Group’s Partner and Senior Vice President of CIO Program Strategy, Nasheen Liu, will be joining Melissa Carvalho, Global Cybersecurity Vice President of RBC; Michelle Joliat, Senior VP, Product and Delivery of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and Ted Maulucci, President of SmartONE Solutions on a highly sought-after keynote panel “Open doors to tech”. They will share their journeys to/in tech and insights about how they’re moving the dial today on hiring, retaining, and promoting talent.

Join us on Oct 25 at Four Seasons Hotel Toronto for a day filled with insights and inspirations. Network with the professionals. Acquire knowledge and ideas. Share best practices. Participate in the conversation. The only way to make an impact and drive real change is to connect with others and work together as a community.
