Following the success of The IT Media Group’s Master Series Roundtable, “Winning Tactics for Hard Times”, in Toronto in November, the company is taking the Series on the road, with scheduled stops in Vancouver and Calgary early in 2012.
Input from the nine senior IT executives at the Toronto session proved valuable and insightful not only to the CIOs themselves but also to the sponsor, Oracle Canada, and to key personnel at The IT Media Group, who will leverage that input at the Vancouver and Calgary events.
Oracle Area Vice President, Sean Forkan, who contributed his own expertise to the discussion, said the Toronto Master Series Roundtable was highly valuable for Oracle as a means to better understand the issues faced by CIOs and to engage key IT leaders in a candid face-to-face conversation.
“What I hoped to get out of these sessions was either confirmation or new insight that the kinds of strategies that we’re looking to deploy as we reform our organization are trending right. And I absolutely learned that,” he said.
The Vancouver and Calgary roundtables will also centre around the topic “Winning Tactics for Hard Times”. As in Toronto, the roundtable will be made up entirely of IT executive peers, with one or two subject-matter experts provided by the sponsor. Participants will share successful tactics and innovative ideas for fulfilling the CIO’s mandate in the midst of continuing tight budgets and economic uncertainty, including strategies for improving vendor relationships, negotiating better deals, and creating more synergy with vendors.
