Highlights from the Master Series roundtable “The CIO in Transition”.

Fourteen CIOs gathered in Toronto at the end of May for a candid discussion around the future of the profession. The latest in The IT Media Group’s CIO Master Series Roundtables focussed on the theme “The CIO in Transition”.

The event, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co., was attended by IT leaders from large and mid-sized firms in a variety of sectors, including financial, retail, transportation and the public sector. It prompted a wide variety of opinions on how the role of CIO is changing, and how CIOs themselves can proactively take control of their own fate within the organization.

Hewlett-Packard Canada has signed an agreement to sponsor The IT Media Group’s upcoming CIO Master Series Roundtable in Toronto. Designed exclusively for senior IT executives, these events bring CIO peers together to share insights, opinions and best practices around leading IT management issues and enterprise technology.


Oracle re-ups for western roundtable swing

Following the success of The IT Media Group’s Master Series Roundtable, “Winning Tactics for Hard Times”, in Toronto in November, the company is taking the Series on the road, with scheduled stops in Vancouver and Calgary early in 2012.


CIOs join ITMG advisory board

Helen Polatajko, Senior Vice President and CIO of CIBC Mellon, and Ted Maulucci, CIO of Tridel Group of Companies, have joined The IT Media Group’s Advisory Board. 

Recognized by the McGraw-Hill group of companies in 1996 as one of the Top 100 Women in Computing, Helen joined CIBC Mellon in 1998 as CIO, and is now a member of the firm’s executive management committee.


Oracle sponsors CIO Master Series Roundtable
